Eugene "Shag" Robinson

Eugene "Shag" Robinson quietly transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2021.  Eugene "Shag" Robinson was born July 29, 1947, in Winnsboro, South Carolina.  Growing up in Winnsboro, South Carolina Eugene enjoyed spending time with his siblings, neighbors, cousins, best friends, Wade Peay and John Stevenson, along with others before graduating from high school.  Growing up he joined Shady Grove AME Church at an early age.  Eugene graduated from Fairfield High School in 1965.  After graduating he was employed by Uniroyal where he worked in the lab until he embarked on a career in brick masonry.  He moved to Hartford, CT in 1976.  He later moved to New Britain, CT continuing his career as a brick mason.  After working in brick masonry for over forty years, Eugene retired in 2009.  

After retirement he would travel to Winnsboro, South Carolina to spend at least two months each year with his father and family until his health declined.

Eugene was preceded in death by his mother Willie Armstrong Robinson and son Eugene C. Robinson.  

He is survived by his father, John A. Robinson of Winnsboro, SC; his loving wife of 32 years, Veronica "Ronnie" Rush Robinson of New Britain, CT.;  a daughter, Bridgett S. Robinson of Columbia, SC; three sons, Michael Robinson of New Jersey; Troy Robinson of Winnsboro, SC; Gregory Robinson of Winnsboro, SC; a sister, Barbara R. Mickens of Columbia, SC; two brothers, James (Eliza) A. Robinson of Winnsboro, SC, MacArthur (Lois) Robinson of Ridgeway, SC; one aunt, Jean Alice Robinson of Jenkinsville, SC; one uncle, Marion Pinckney of Windsor, CT as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
