Gerald Lee Alston, was born on July 24,1958 at University Hospital
in Baltimore Maryland. He transitioned from this life on February
6, 2024. He was preceded by his father Charles Alston Sr., mother
Mary Johnson, stepmother Dorthetha Alston, sister Wanda
Alston-Herrod, bother Stacy Alston.
“Giz” as he was affectionately known by classmates, was educated
in the Baltimore City Public school system. He graduated from
Edmonson High School in 1977. Following graduation, he enlisted
in the United States Army.
It’s said that Gerald put the “P” in party and that’s the way he
lived his life. He loved to travel, cook, barbecue, help with
household chores and give out funny nicknames to friends.
Gerald was an avid football and baseball lover and was a major fan of both the Ravens and Orioles.
Gerald leaves behind, his only child Tapoya Alston and his
granddaughters Serenity and Syriah Vaughan. Brothers Bobby
Johnson (Belinda), Charles “Junnie’ Jr., Eric, Kevin (Allison), Brian,
Charles Alston Jr. Sisters Bertha Peyton (Russell), Patricia Byrd
(Thomas), Shirley Cook, Chyerl Stclair (David), Victoria Alston,
Lori Alston, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
