James Lee Dowdy

Mr. James Lee Dowdy of 159 Grove Street, Clinton, South Carolina was called Home by the Lord on Monday, July 26, 2021.  He was the oldest of the late Bennie Lee Dowdy and Sunnie Coleman Dowdy. Mr. Dowdy was a graduate of Bell Street High School Class of 1955.  He attended Technical School in Orangeburg, South Carolina.  He is a 23 year veteran of the United State Navy and also served as assistant fire chief in Clinton, South Carolina.  He and his beloved wife of sixty-four years, Betty Jane Davis were married on April 18, 1959, in Coram New York.  To this union, three children were born: Donna Maria Dowdy, James Darrell Dowdy and Pamela Dowdy Gibson (William).  They were blessed with three grandchildren: Alexandra McKnight, Dannilla Dowdy and Andrew Davis Dowdy.
