Mr. Curtis Marion Harrison, Jr.

Mr. Curtis Marion Harrison was born July 8, 1936, to the late Marion and Maggie Smith Harrison of Ridgeway,  SC. He was educated in Fairfield County schools and later at Midlands Technical College.  Mr. Harrison was an army veteran and was employed in various jobs before retiring from the City of Columbia Police Department as a Sergeant.  Mr. Harrison was a faithful member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where he led the Jubilee choir and served as the chairman of the deacon board for many years and later as a deacon emeritus.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Susie Mae Martin for 63 years and to this union, 4 daughters were born.

Deacon Harrison was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Annie Mae Summers and Susie Mae Ellison; three brothers, Nathaniel Harrison, Earnest Harrison, and George Mark Harrison; four sisters, Ruth Belton, Willie Mae Canty, Inita Moon, and Barbara Ann Jenkins.

Deacon Harrison leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Susie Mae of the home; two daughters, Margie (David) Long and Marion (David) Whitaker; one son-in-law Stanley Ellison; three brothers: James (Natsumi) Harrison, Andrew (Patricia) Harrison, Charles (Vivian) Harrison; two sisters: Bessie (Paul) Wood and Dorothy (James) Price; four granddaughters: LaTezzar (Eric) Fair-Dash, LaDatril Long, LaQuinta Long, and Crystal Whitaker: six great-grandchildren: Ericka Dash, Makayla Long, Christopher Dash, Madison Long, Elijah Fair Dash, and Tristian Whitaker and numerous family and friends all of whom will miss him dearly. 

The Governor of South Carolina advises limiting public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
