“The Lord Is My Shepherd.” Psalm 23:1
Sammie Lee Rogers the son of the late Mary Louise Rogers
Peeples was born August 23, 1944 in Manning, SC. He was
reared by his beloved grandparents, the late Dozier and Alice
Rogers. He transitioned to Heaven on Monday, January 15,
2024.
He joined Biggers A.M.E. Church at a young age and was a
lifetime member. He was a Sunday school teacher and he
joyfully participated in all church activities.
He attended the public schools of Clarendon County and
attended Denmark Technical College and graduated as a
Certified Electrician and Plummer. After graduating, Sammie
Lee was drafted into the United States Army and served 12
years.
After serving in the Military, he returned home and
established his own company, “Sammie Lee Electrical and
Plumbing Service.” Sammie Lee was man with many visions
and he was well liked in his community. At one point, he
owned a rolling store and worked as a Dis Jockey with his
cousins, Stevie and James Lewis. He was clever and would
devise different ways to make a living. He was industrious in
all of these endeavors until his health failed.
Those left to cherish his memory are: one aunt, Ethel
Mitchner of Brooklyn, New York, three uncles: Ernest Rogers,
James Arthur (Rosa Lee) Rogers of Manning, SC and Elliott
Rogers of Jackson Heights, NY and a host of cousins other
relatives and friends.
