Thomas Jayson McConnell, III affectionally known as Jake or Jacob was born August 20, 1954, in Blair, South Carolina to Louise McConnell and the late Thomas McConnell, II. He departed this earthly life surrounded by loved ones on December 3, 2021, in the Lexington Medical Center.
Thomas joined Weeping Mary Baptist Church at an early age. He was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County and a graduate of McCorey Liston High School, Class of 1972. Thomas Jake was a Master Carpenter and Builder. He was formerly employed by Cone Mill, Wackernhut Security, VC Summer, K Mac Services and McConnell Construction Company.
Thomas leaves to celebrate his legacy and to cherish many fond memories: his devoted spouse, Elizabeth of more than forty years; four daughters, Teisha McConnell of Irmo, SC, Tora (Thomas) Armstrong of Winnsboro, SC, Tanika (Cedric) Davis and Tequilla Lee (Demarcus Crank) of Blair, SC; eleven grandchildren: Kiara McDaniel, Cedrick Davis Sr., Titorya Armstrong, Destiny Armstrong, Faith Armstrong, J' Lexia Davis, Anaiah Armstrong, Caleb Pendergrass, Tony Lee, Trenton Lee and Demarcus Crank; two great grandchildren; Cedrick Davis Jr. and Cholie Davis; his loving mother, Louise Goodwin McConnell; one sister, Deloris Roseborough, two brothers, Willie Earl McConnell and Jesse James Mcconnell; one brother-in-law Robert Trapp; two devoted goddaughters, LaQuandra Stone and C'Nira Crumpton; a devoted cousin, Shelia Boyd; his mother-in-law, four sisters in laws, five brother in laws, and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
He preceded in death by his sons, Desmond McConnell and Thomas McConnell IV; one granddaughter, Alexis Lyles, and his sister, Martha Trapp.
