A loving mother, doting grandmother, devout sister, adoring aunt, and loyal friend. Mrs. Vivian Black Jones affectionately known as Aunt Vivian was called home by God to receive her wings the morning of March 28, 2022. She answered the Master’s call and departed this life after 100 years on this earthly journey.
Mrs. Jones was born on January 17, 1922, in Colleton County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Walter P. Black and May Black. She was the second of six girls and preceded in death by her sisters; Inez Black, Dorothy Green, twins: Mary & Martha Black, & Orita Ackerman.
Mrs. Jones devoted her life to Christ at an early age. She continued her Christian journey as a member of various churches, where she served faithfully as a member of the choir and kitchen committee.
Mrs. Jones met and married Mr. Pledger Jones of Colleton County, South Carolina God blessed them with one loving son, Reverend Stanley W. Jones I.
Mrs. Jones was a devoted homemaker, gourmet cook, and an avid gardener. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her son Reverend Stanley Warren Jones I and her daughter-in-law Joyce Whitaker Jones.
Mrs. Jones leaves to cherish her memories her dedicated grandson Mr. Stanley W. Jones II (Seqouyiea) of Columbia, South Carolina. A host of caring nieces, nephews, and many loving family members and cherished friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
